- Ever since Microsoft included Freecell with Windows 95, it has been hugely popular. This version has the original Windows version numbers so you can return to a specific game later if you choose to. The aim of Freecell is to create 4 piles of cards, beginning with the Ace and ending with the King. Each pile, or stack, has its own suit. The name comes from the 'free cells' where you can temporarily hold cards to free up others. You aren't likely to get bored with this game since there are literally millions of different combinations to start with.
